It’s rare that we get a night out. This weekend, my parents took the kids for the night and my husband and I were able to spend the evening with friends at an event to benefit a great cause. Prayers for Maria is an organization raising funds towards treatment for glioma (a type of childhood brain tumor). If you live in the Northeast Ohio area be sure to stop by the sunflower field in Avon this fall. It is amazing.
A night out with friends, wine and beer, and its all to benefit a great cause? Sounds like a win-win to me.
Even better, it gives me a reason to play with makeup. Senegence recently released some limited edition Shadowsense colors. Sea Foam Shimmer and Shell Glitter are AMAZING! Exactly the colors we have been waiting for!
I never thought I’d try a creme to powder shadow, let alone love it. But these highly pigmented formulas have become sort of an obsession. The best thing in my mind is that they are so versatile. You can use them not just for eyeshadow, but for concealer, highlighter, brows, contouring, lip color. The list goes on and on. They are also long lasting, waterproof and smudgeproof. So no raccoon eyes anymore. This stuff is the real deal. This tube for $22 will last 4-6 months if used daily.
I feel a trio is the way to go. Having a main shade, highlight and contour gives you a complete look. These shadows are so blendable and do not crease like other creme shadows you may have tried. You have about 2 minutes to blend and work with the shadows before they set. Plenty of time to create an amazing look. They are very highly pigmented so I dab a bit on with a wand and then blend out with a brush. No need to get expensive brushes. You can find some great shadow brushes like these on Amazon.
I came across this photo and it served as my inspiration. I mean, hello! So pretty!
I always start with my main color on my lid first, for this it was Shell Glitter. Then I move to the highlight. In this case it was the Sandstone Pearl Shimmer. I placed it just below my brow bone and in the inner corners of my eyes. I used a small shadow brush to blend a bit. Then I used the Seafoam Shimmer in the outer corner and also to line my bottom lash line. This pulled it all together! I lined the top with Onyx shadowsense. Add some Lashsense with Undersense and I was good to go.
For my lips I combined two of my current favorite shades for summer. Mod Magenta and Summer Fun. These two limited edition colors are great alone, but the pink they create when combined is fantastic!
It was about 100 degrees with 100% humidity. My face stayed on all night long. No running, no smudging. Perfect all night. Bonus- they contain the anti-aging Seneplex Complex which means they weren’t just sitting on my face. They were providing anti-aging benefits to my skin!
